KEPCO ships Darlington Nuclear Power Plant Unit 2 final reactor

On August 28, the company shipped a final reactor component to be installed at Smalley, Chicago, USA, in Darlington, Canada.

The reactor parts shipped on this day consisted of two types of journal ring retention ring and shield sleeve retaining ring, and two end fittings to replace Darlington Nuclear Power Plant No. 2 It is a key part used for assembly.

The Retaining Ring is made by a professional company in the United States because it requires special production and can not be produced domestically. From the start of the inspection plan to the approval of raw materials, production, testing, inspection and related documents The final shipment approval was made through complicated and demanding processes.

On July 10, the company shipped 3 kinds of reactor parts manufactured in Korea, followed by delivery of 2 types of retaining rings, and completed delivery of reactor parts for Darlington Nuclear Power Plant No. 2 on time. In addition, Daelim will also begin production of parts for the additional orders of Darlington 1, 3 and 4. The reactor parts shipments are meaningful for export of the first CANDU reactor parts in Korea, which has been achieved through win-win cooperation with manufacturers based on our capability. The company plans to extend the development of parts supply business for the nuclear power plant of domestic and overseas heavy water sources including Canada.
